“GIFTING ART” WITH SARAH JAMES POPE

PH: What is one of your favorite holiday traditions?

SJP: Date/walnut pudding at my aunts house with homemade whip cream. The recipe is top secret and so good!!

PH: Describe the medium of your work and what you love most about creating?

SJP: My mixed media work is made out of reflective street sign stickers, hunting stickers, promotional stickers, neon stickers from Fedex, and stickers I find online. I love that I have to make a 100 little decisions for each piece. I also love creating color schemes and designs with the stickers.

PH: Tell us about a heartwarming gift you enjoy giving?

SJP: I give my dad the same gift every year… a gift card for dinner and a nice bottle of wine at the Grist Mill Inn near the Homestead. Something he can always count on.
